Is your program making sufficient progress? Are people working well together? Will the program remain within budget? Are problems being made transparent and are they fixed on time? Do your suppliers deliver what is in the contract? Does your program have a solid business case? Is everyone aware of the program risks? Is the program supported by the entire organisation ?

If you're asking yourself these questions and the answers are not satisfactory, then you're not the only one. The vast majority of significant programs struggles with these challenges.

Getting a large program on the rails and setting it up for success, requires specific experience which you may not have in-house. But you may be reluctant to contract an additional resource full-time for the entire duration of the program. If so, then this offering may be exactly what you are looking for.

Intake

We plan a first one-hour intake meeting via the phone or videocall for me to understand the program at a high level and for you to understand what you can expect from a project/program assessment. This first meeting is free of charge.

2

Program assessment

Through document review, interviews and attendance of meetings, I develop an overview of the strenghts and weaknessess of your program. I take a look at the governance, approach, risks, business case, roadmap and change management approach to create a holistic view of the current status and provide recommedations for improvement. The extent of this assessment will be agreed upon after the intake.

3

Project management healthchecks

Through a questionnaire that I go through with the project manager, I check whether proper project management methodology is being used on a project. Each project that is part of this  assessment gets a report. I identify general trends and provide recommendations for improvement.

4

Continued support

If there is a need for continued support, we can agree that after the program assessment and/or project management healthchecks have been delivered. Continued support can take the form of coaching, co-sponsoring the program, attendance of the steering committee as an external advisor or helping out with specific tasks where weaknesses were found.
